"...he acted in a very excellent and noble way, inasmuch as he had the resurrection in mind; for if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead." (2 Macc 12:43b-44)
"If the dead are not raised at all, then why are they having themselves baptized for them?" (2 Cor:15:29)
This Office gives the prayers for the hours specifically for the dead, or someone who has died. The communion of saints is a powerful revelation, connecting us to others within God's time, where the past and present as well as death in the body have no meaning and the Death of sin has no power. We know in God's mercy that death of the body is not death of the soul, which continues on. Prayer connects us in one Communion.
I have listed it here, because I could not find it anywhere else for free on the net and have had great need for it. It is now available at divineoffice.org but now this is a registration required site.
